Accessibility Statement
G8 ONE Limited wants as many people as possible to be able to use G8 ONE – including operatives on site using phones, people who use screen readers or keyboards, and people who read in languages other than English. This statement covers g8-one.com and the app at app.g8-one.com.
Compliance status
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. g8-one.com and the G8 ONE app are partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA because of the limitations listed under “Known limitations” below.
What we have done
- Text colour contrast of at least 4.5:1, with a high-contrast mode in the app.
- Tap targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels on phones.
- Form labels linked to their fields, error messages announced to screen readers, and accessible names on every button.
- Pages that zoom to 200% and reflow at 320px wide without sideways scrolling (wide tables scroll inside their own area).
- Full keyboard use with visible focus; Escape closes menus and dialogs; the search shortcut is ⌘K on Apple devices and Ctrl K elsewhere.
- Signatures without drawing: every signature box (RAMS and document sign-offs, permits, forms and worker sign-off) has a “Type my signature instead” option, so you can sign with a keyboard or switch device.
- Charts as tables: every chart on the analytics page has a text description and a “View as table” option with the underlying figures.
- Accessible versions of PDFs: PDFs made by G8 ONE have their title and language (English, UK) set and contain real, selectable text in reading order. The document screen that opens after you make a PDF also offers an “Accessible version (HTML)” download, and the Accessible text version of a PDF tool in the app turns any PDF – including ones you upload – into plain HTML for screen readers and text-to-speech. Registers and logs are also available as CSV spreadsheets.
- Worker screens in 10 languages, including right-to-left Urdu. English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi have been reviewed by native speakers.
Known limitations
- Translations awaiting native review: Polish, Romanian, Portuguese, Lithuanian, Bulgarian and Ukrainian were machine-translated and are waiting for review by native speakers. They are labelled “Machine translation” on screen, with a “Report a translation problem” link. You can switch to English at any time.
- PDF tagging: the PDF library we use can't add full accessibility tags (the structure tree used by some screen readers), so PDFs made by G8 ONE are not fully tagged. The HTML version described above gives the same content in an accessible form.
- Documents from other people: PDFs you or your suppliers upload (for example safety data sheets or surveys) are shown as supplied. Use the accessible text tool for these; scanned pages without text can't be read aloud.
How we tested
We last tested g8-one.com and the app on 18 October 2026. We use automated axe-core checks in Chromium and WebKit at desktop, tablet and phone sizes as part of every release, and check keyboard-only use, zoom to 200% and reflow at 320px by hand. This statement was prepared on 18 October 2026 and will be reviewed at least once a year and whenever we make significant changes.
